The United States is sending a powerful message to Iran by deploying approximately 100 troops to Israel to operate the cutting-edge Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system. This strategic move aims to bolster Israel's air defenses in response to Iran's unprecedented attacks on April 13 and October 1.


A History of Cooperation


This isn't the first time the US has deployed the THAAD system to the Middle East. In 2019, the system was deployed to Israel for a military exercise, demonstrating the countries' ongoing cooperation ¹.

The current deployment is significant, given the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. The region is bracing for a potential Israeli attack on Iran, which could further intensify hostilities.
